Cathy De Rosa

Vice President for the Americas and Global Vice President of Marketing

Cathy De Rosa

Cathy joined OCLC in 2001 in the newly created role of Vice President of Marketing. She joined the cooperative from work at the Ohio State University where she led instruction in marketing at the Fisher School. Today, Cathy is responsible for leading marketing globally for OCLC and for managing library services, support and market research for the Americas.

A passion for uncovering the numbers behind a great story has guided the quantitative library research work that Cathy has led over the last decade at OCLC. This work includes seven major membership reports that explore the facts about library user behavior and perception of libraries in and across communities and across the web, beginning with Environmental Scan and most recently Perceptions of Libraries, 2010.

Supporting advocacy efforts is also central to Cathy’s work at OCLC. The urgent need for funding for public libraries has led to the Bill & Melinda Gates grant funded "Geek the Library" advocacy campaign. Cathy is also currently a member of the IMLS working group developing a Framework for Digitally-Inclusive Communities.

In 2009, Cathy was awarded the Spotlight on Dublin award for her focus on bringing positive national and international attention to Dublin Ohio.

Cathy received her bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of Arizona and an MBA from Harvard Business School.
