Definition

A conference or meeting name used as an added entry. An added entry is assigned according to various cataloging rules to give access to the bibliographic record from conference or meeting name headings which may not be more appropriately assigned as field 611 (Subject Added Entry–Meeting Name) or field 811 (Series Added Entry–Meeting Name). Conference or meeting names are the names of athletic contests, conferences, exhibitions, expositions, festivals, meetings and scientific expeditions.

If you enter a conference or meeting name indirectly (i.e., under the name of a corporate body), use field 710 (Added Entry–Corporate Name). If in doubt, use field 711.
