App

This looks likes another great app indeed! I hope that there are going to be more like this in the future. I think the iPhone is going to be a must in every household, at least I am sure Apple is hoping it is.

Why iPhone and iPad?

I'm not sure why OCLC focuses so exclusively on Apple products, and produces applications for smartphones just for iPhone and iPad -- at least first.

I'm still waiting for Android apps for some of your "creations." Why do you focus so much on these proprietary products from Apple?

Best,

DrWeb

OCLC doesn't build these

OCLC doesn't build these applications ourselves, rather third party partners build these applications based on our data. Many of our current partners create applications for iPhone. Android developers are welcome partner with OCLC to build applications using our data as well. If you want to see a prototype of a application built for Android using WorldCat data, check out the BookMinder application which was created by one of the staff in OCLC Research.

Huge home library, need to transfer to android

I LOVE Book Crawler but can't stand the issues I'm having with my iPhone, or dealing with the Apple Store for help. It took a LONG time to scan in my whole library of books and I absolutely cringe at the thought of losing it all becasuse it's limited to Apple products. I would GLADLY buy the app again at double the price if I could transfer it to an android phone. Is anybody working on making that possible?

Thank you.

I'd suggest you contact the

I'd suggest you contact the application developer. As was previously stated in this thread, OCLC doesn't have anything to do with the actual application development. We provide the data that the app is using. It is up to the app developer to determine the functionality they want to support and what devices they will make their app available.

Love Book Crawler WorldCat Interface!!!

I love how Book Crawler allows you to not only find nearby libraries, but also call them with the touch of a button.  Take the guess work out of looking up the library's phone number!  Great App!
