Send a library linked data practitioner to the SemTechBiz conference in San Francisco, June 2-5

Have you been working on a linked data project for your library? Or do you know someone doing great work promoting or demonstrating the benefits of linked data for libraries?

Innovation in Libraries videos

The videos from Innovation in Libraries are finally ready! And a shout out to all video content producers, because each time we work on large numbers of videos I am reminded how labor-intensive the editing, uploading, description process can be. But hooray! Now even if you weren't able to attend Innovation in Libraries, you can still benefit from the collective wisdom shared at the post-LITA event back in October.

Code4Lib Mid-Atlantic

So last week I had the opportunity to attend code4lib Mid-Atlantic and hang out with library developers from that part of the country. One of the most interesting things about the conference was its international set of participants. Because the event was held in conjunction with the VuFind conference, several members of the international VuFind community stayed and attended the code4lib Mid-Atlantic conference as well. This gave the small conference a refreshing global-cosmopolitan atmosphere.

Innovation in Libraries deemed a great success

Innovation in LibrariesWhile Karen is off at Code4Lib Mid-Atlantic in Philadelphia learning new things, I finally found some catching-up time to assemble some follow-up thoughts about the Innovation in Libraries event. And load the slides!

2 weeks left to submit your Innovation in Libraries proposals

Quick reminder that your Innovation in Libraries proposals are due in 2 weeks = 31 August.

We're still looking for a few more lightning talks, which don't have to be strict pecha-kucha. Just short.

DEADLINE EXTENDED for Innovation in Libraries proposals

You're in luck. We've been asked to extend the deadline for proposal submissions for Innovation in Libraries, the free post conference after LITA Forum. I know, I know, summer schedules and life gets in the way of work. OK, you now have until 31 August to get your 20 minute session, 5 minute lightning talk or group leader topic proposal ideas in. So get to cookin' on what interesting things you can share with the group.

Reminder: Call for Proposals due 31 July for Innovation in Libraries 2012

Quick reminder to get your proposal finished up for the Innovation in Libraries 2012 postconference to LITA Forum.

Whether you plan to attend LITA Forum or not, you are encouraged to share your innovations, ideas and instructive failures with fellow attendees at Innovation in Libraries 2012. There are three (3) potential ways to participate:

Do you love exploring new ideas? Always secretly wished you knew more about how to create an app? Wonder what the next wave of library innovation might be?

There's an App for That! at ER&L right now

Just in case you're hanging out in Austin (or virtually) at ER&L--and wondering what to do--head on over to Salon A/B to hear Andrea Schurr from the University of Tennessee, Chattanooga and our own Kathryn Harnish share the new apps they've built and talk about the WorldShare Platform.
