Response Details

Overview:

The response formats for the WorldCat Knowledge Base API depend on the type of service used and can be varied with each request. For further details please visit the detail pages for each response type:

• OpenURL
• REST

OpenURL:

By default, the response format is set to JSON, however, using the OpenURL ServiceType entity, XML can also be requested as a response type. To invoke the different response types the following key-value pairs can be used:

svc_id=json

or

svc_id=xml

REST:

By default, the response format is set to XML. To invoke the different response types the following key-value pairs can be used:

alt=json

or

alt=xml

XML serialization is Atom based and JSON serialization is based on JAXB.
