I'm happy to be able to fill you in on the enhancements coming for two existing WorldShare APIs.
Note that on Sunday, 18 August 2013, there will be a scheduled service downtime for the OCLC WorldShare Platform and all associated OCLC Web services available through the Platform from 2:00 am to 8:00 am EDT (-4 GMT). During the downtime (which will be minimized as much as possible), the WorldShare Platform will receive this quarter’s planned enhancements.
In order to facilitate better discovery, the first_author and publisher fields have been made searchable through the API.
The Pull List web service will now return both holds and scheduled items. The schema will not change, but both scheduled and on-hold items will now be present.
Scheduled items – a new feature – are items from the library collection that staff have scheduled for a specific time period in the future (e.g., schedule a DVD to be shown during a class period on 15 August from 10:00 until 11:30).
Let me know if you have any questions about these or other features of any web services by sending a note to developernetwork[AT]oclc.org.
The OCLC Developer Network supports the use of OCLC Web Services—a set of tools and APIs that expose data and services for WorldCat and our member libraries and partner institutions or companies. learn more »
