Many of you system administrators/developers also are in charge of maintaining the library's EZproxy servers. So we always like to cross-post EZproxy announcements when there's a new release. And one went out today, in fact!
A new incremental release, EZproxy 5.6.3 resolves several issues identified in EZproxy 5.6 related to the Linux build and Shibboleth running on the Windows platform. Bug fixes for 5.6.3 include the following:
2012-05-01 11:37:18 Unrecognized config.txt(31): OPTON ProxyByHoostname
2012-05-01 11:37:18 Unrecognized config.txt(35): LOGINORRT 80
2012-05-01 11:37:18 Unrecognized config.txt(43): OPTON AllowHTTPPLogin

Note they're looking for beta testers of the next version, EZproxy v6.0, for each supported platform—Windows, Linux and Solaris. E-mail ezproxy@oclc.org to participate.
Remember if you're coaxing along an ancient server, a hosted version of EZproxy is available. Automatic upgrades. 24 x 7 x 365 support, no more worries about security certificates, back-up regression testing--you can focus on higher priority projects.
