OCLC Developer Network

Sandbox Testing Environment

As part of the OCLC WorldShare Platform infrastructure, you'll now find a sandbox environment to faciliate application development. This environment can be used for testing:

  • Applications which use OCLC's web services
  • Click-to-install apps that integrate directly into OCLC's products

Sandbox environment for testing

Staff who work at libraries which subscribe to any OCLC product or service are eligible for access to the sandbox environment. The sandbox environment will contain generic library data that library developers can use to test and develop their applications.

Eligibility requirements for production

Libraries that wish to deploy applications into production will need to obtain production access to the web service(s) used, usually a subscription to the corresponding OCLC product. Each web service has distinct eligibility requirements and libraries must meet these requirements to obtain production access to the web service.
