Jane Treadwell is University Librarian and Dean of Library Instructional Services at the University of Illinois Springfield, a post she has held for ten years. In 2011, she was elected as a delegate to Global Council from the Americas Regional Council and in 2012 was elected as vice-president/president-elect of the Americas Regional Council. Having served as a delegate and a member of the executive committee of OCLC User's Council a little over a decade ago, she is delighted to participate in a council that is truly global.
Prior to coming to UIS, Jane served as an assistant director at Emory University from 1988-2002, most of that time as Director of Collections and Technical Services. She was head of the Resource Development Division at Sterling C. Evans Library, Texas A&M University, from 1984-1988 and began her career at the University of Florida, Gainesville, where she held several positions in the Technical Services Division. She has served as President of the Illinois Association of College and Research Libraries (2009-2010), and as a member of the board of directors of the Illinois Library Computer Systems Organization (ILCSO) and the Association of Collections and Technical Services (ALCTS).
Jane received her bachelor's degree in history from Furman University in South Carolina and her MSLS degree from Florida State University. She participated in the Senior Fellows Program at UCLA in 1999.
