Collective Insight: Driven by Shared Data (2013 AIKCU Technology Conference)

In recent years organizations have begun using data in new and exciting ways. Phrases like “linked data,” “big data,” and “data visualization” have permeated these discussions, signaling a broader trend toward data-driven insight and integration of libraries into the wider Web.

Phrases like “linked data,” “big data” and “data visualization” have permeated these discussions, signaling a broader trend toward data-driven insight and integration of libraries into the wider Web. Data is increasingly an essential driver of success throughout the library. How can we share and use data within the library community and the information industry to gain greater insight into our collections, patrons, and resources?  How do we utilize this data to reach out to our users on the Web?

Join OCLC Member Services Consultant Meryl Cinnamon for an extended conversation about the opportunities in areas such as linked library metadata, data for patron discovery of resources, and data to inform library collecting.
