The Virtual International Authority File (VIAF) API allows searching for authority data by keyword, local name, preferred name form, title, source, or control number of source records and retrieves authority records and relationships between authority records from different, international sources. Join us at this online workshop to learn more about how you can put the VIAF API to work at your library.

At this session, Ralph LeVan, Senior Research Scientist at OCLC, started the webinar off with an overview of the data, the API, and its features. Special guests Joe Atzberger and Bobbi Fox talked about their experience working with the VIAF API on a Developer House group project. They showed attendees the autocomplete widget the group created and took us on a code walkthrough. The presenters also   included some practical use cases.
