OCLC named among Computerworld's Best Places to Work in Information Technology

DUBLIN, Ohio, USA, 19 June 2012—OCLC, the world's leading library service and research organization, based in Dublin, Ohio, has been named among Computerworld's "Best Places to Work in IT."

It is the seventh consecutive year OCLC has been selected as one of the top workplaces for information technology (IT) professionals. This honor is part of the IT publication's annual Best Places to Work in IT survey, which is published in the June 18 issue of Computerworld and available online at Computerworld.com.

OCLC placed at number 74 on the 2012 list, and was 10th in the Small Companies category of less than 2,500 employees.

"It is an honor for OCLC to be recognized by Computerworld as one of the Best Places to work in IT for a seventh consecutive year," said Jay Jordan, OCLC President and CEO. "Our IT staff in eight engineering centers around the world share not only a global development platform, but a commitment to OCLC's public purposes of furthering access to the world's information and reducing costs for libraries. We will continue to work hard at making OCLC a great place for innovation and global teamwork for all staff."

Since 1994, Computerworld's annual "Best Places to Work in IT" feature has ranked the top 100 work environments for technology professionals, based on a comprehensive questionnaire regarding company offerings in categories such as benefits, diversity, career development, training and retention.

Based in Dublin, Ohio, OCLC is a nonprofit library service and research organization that provides computer-based cataloging, reference, resource sharing, preservation, library management and Web services to thousands of libraries around the world. OCLC and its member libraries worldwide have created and maintain WorldCat, the world's richest online resource for finding library materials.
