The PREMIS Working Group has concluded its activities and its final products are available for download below. A maintenance activity for the PREMIS data dictionary and XML schema has been organized. Updates on continuing activities will appear in OCLC Research Announcements.

  • PREMIS Data Dictionary for Preservation Metadata, v. 2 (March 2008) (.pdf: 3.1MB/224 pp.)
    • This publication updates the Data Dictionary for Preservation Metadata: Final Report of the PREMIS Working Group (May 2005), which won the 2005 Digital Preservation Award and the 2006 Society of American Archivists Preservation Publication Award.

The PREMIS Maintenance Activity

The PREMIS data dictionary and XML schema are maintained by the PREMIS maintenance activity, hosted by the Library of Congress. It may be accessed at: http://www.loc.gov/standards/premis/
