In addition, we met with RLG partners in person at ALA Midwinter in Boston for updates and discussions on various aspects of work taking place within the RLG Partnership.

SHARES Roundtable Meeting

This meeting included a report on the "greening ILL practices" study currently being wrapped up by consultants from California Environmental Associates, managed by Dennis Massie and jointly sponsored by OCLC Research and the Delivery Services group at OCLC. It also included discussion of the sharing of special collections materials, with reports by the Sharing Special Collections Advisory Group and the ACRL/RBMS task force that is revising guidelines for sharing special items. In addition, nominees for the SHARES Executive Group 2010-2011 were announced, and opportunities for participating in various SHARES working groups were discussed.

RLG Partnership Shared Print Update Session

This discussion centered on recent efforts to define policy and infrastructure requirements for building and managing shared print collections, including progress toward creating a decision tree to aid in the disposition of print journal backfiles and an update on the Cloud Library Project, an attempt to collectively enable research institutions to enact cooperative print management schemes.
