Regional Print Management: Right-Scaling Solutions Symposium
Library managers, collection development officers, consortium administrators and others interested in shared print were invited and encouraged to attend this event co-sponsored by OCLC Research, the CIC and The Ohio State University Library, with support from OhioLINK. #regionalprint
This event has passed.
The goal of this symposium was to broaden community conversation about regional print management strategies.
During the symposium, in-person and online attendees heard from library leaders who are actively implementing shared print arrangements at a variety of scales, from small consortia to state and region-wide initiatives. Key findings from an OCLC Research and Ohio State University Library analysis of CIC print books were also shared and used to anchor discussions about the opportunities for cooperative management of monographic collections. This investigation considered academic collections from three different perspectives: as an institutional resource, as a shared consortial resource, and as part of a loosely coordinated larger system of libraries. Findings from the study were published in the OCLC Research report, Right-scaling Stewardship: A Multi-scale Perspective on Cooperative Print Management.
