FAST, an enumerative, faceted subject heading schema derived from the Library of Congress Subject Headings (LCSH), is now available as an experimental Linked Data service and is made available under the Open Data Commons Attribution License.

RLG Partnership European Meeting Canceled Due to Travel Restrictions Caused by Icelandic Volcanic Ash
A cloud of volcanic ash drifting over much of Europe, caused by the eruption of the Icelandic volcano Eyjafjallajokull, has resulted in travel restrictions that would prevent over half of the meeting's speakers and many of the registrants from attending who were traveling from afar.
