Jean Godby, Ph.D.

Carol Jean Godby is a senior research scientist at OCLC. Jean has spent over twenty years exploring data-oriented research interests in information retrieval, library metadata standards, data exchange between libraries and publishers, knowledge organization, automated content analysis, and data transformation. Before joining OCLC Research, Jean was a software engineer specializing in computer-aided instruction and user interface development. Jean earned M.A. and Ph.D. degrees in Linguistics from Ohio State University and a B.A. in German from the University of Delaware.
