Jacques  Malschaert

Jacques Malschaert is the Director of Library Service Fryslân (BSF), a service organization for about 50 branches of public libraries in Fryslan, in the Netherlands.  The key services of BSF include: facility-services, financial administration, ICT-services, logistics, marketing, human resources management, developing innovation projects - - including multi-language cataloging and Frysklab - - and acting as the knowledge centre for libraries in the region.

Mr. Malschaert started as a librarian and branch manager of libraries and worked in several other positions in the region. After a period being director of public libraries, Jacques Malschaert continued his career with innovation-projects and as a consultant / interim director for Dutch and Belgium library organizations.  As a professional he is an expert in the field of public libraries, initiator, and change management. As a person he is involved, results driven and a generator of enthusiasm.  He is also a member of the board of the Dutch service organizations for public libraries, member of the board of  the Union of publishers in the region of Fryslân, chairman of the Platform for reading promotion in the region of Fryslân.
