Ulf-Göran Nilsson

Ulf-Göran Nilsson has been the Library Director at the University of Skövde Library in Sweden since February 2012.

He has extensive managerial experience, predominantly with academic libraries. In the early 1990s he was involved in establishing the library at the Blekinge Institute of Technology. The library was among the first institutions developing the use of gopher and web servers.

From the mid-nineties he worked as the deputy library director at Jönköping University and established several national projects. Some of the projects contributed to the fact that the library was named The Library of the Year in Sweden 2005. Ulf-Göran was also the chairman of the University IT Council for several years.

Ulf-Göran has been a member of the IT Commission at the national Knowledge Foundation for five years. The Knowledge Foundation was established in 1994 and since then it has invested some SEK 7.9 billion in more than 2,100 projects.

Before Skövde University, Ulf-Göran was the Head of Department for media acquisition, IT, publishing and web-based learning at KTH, The Royal Institute of Technology.

Ulf-Göran became a delegate of the OCLC EMEA Regional Executive Committee and the OCLC Global Council in July 2014.
