Getting started
The Digital Collection Gateway is available at no charge to institutions that want to contribute their metadata to WorldCat. CONTENTdm users should refer to the CONTENTdm Help and the CONTENTdm version of the Digital Collection Gateway tutorial. Users of other OAI repositories should follow the steps below to get started.
- Enable your OAI repository. Use the help files and documentation from your local repository to enable your OAI repository. Make a note of the "Base URL" of your OAI repository.
- Register your institution. On the Digital Collection Gateway registration page, enter information about your institution.
- Log in and start harvesting. A few days after you register, you will receive a welcome email that includes your login credentials. Use that information to log in to the Digital Collection Gateway and begin harvesting metadata from your OAI repositories immediately.
For more on learning to use the Digital Collection Gateway, please see the Resources page. For further information for metadata contributors, please read Information for metadata contributors (PDF).
