DevConnect 2024: What's new in BookOps-WorldCat

This 45-minute presentation will include an overview of recent changes and additions to the BookOps-WorldCat API wrapper as well as a tutorial highlighting the new functionality.

This event is on-demand.

BookOps-WorldCat is an API wrapper that simplifies the process of interacting with the WorldCat Metadata API, enabling users to search bib records, set holdings, retrieve classification recommendations, and complete other tasks in WorldCat with just a few lines of code.

Following the release of version 2.0 of the WorldCat Metadata API, BookOps has released an expanded version 1.0 of the BookOps-WorldCat Python library. This 45-minute presentation will include an overview of recent changes and additions to the wrapper as well as a tutorial highlighting the new functionality. Highlights from the new version of BookOps-WorldCat include expanded coverage for all Metadata API endpoints and improved handling of errors and timeouts.

Attendees will learn how to use BookOps-WorldCat to authorize a web service session and send requests to the Metadata API. The tutorial will be suitable for beginners and anyone interested in learning more about the tool.
