The University of Oviedo achieves its vision of actionable usage data with EZproxy Analytics

Providing seamless access to relevant digital resources isn't easy for any university library. But it's particularly challenging at the University of Oviedo in northwest Spain.
Thanks to EZproxy, the library now provides access for 24,000 users on five campuses and 15 library sites. The users include medical students at HUCA, the Central University Hospital of Asturias, which has its own separate infrastructure.
The library has seen a dramatic decrease in user support issues. "All those incidents we dealt with every day have disappeared, and the incidents that do arise are easy to resolve," says Gema Martínez, Technical Deputy Director of the University Library.
To improve resource provision further, the library team uses EZproxy Analytics. By automatically harvesting up-to-date usage analytics, EZproxy Analytics helps make user-centered collection decisions.
EZproxy Analytics provides a near-complete picture of usage across the institution. This transforms the library's ability to make data-informed decisions and demonstrate return on investment.
