OCLC's CloudLibrary is now integrated with WorldCat, making digital content more visible, discoverable for users

DUBLIN, Ohio, 3 April 2025—OCLC's CloudLibrary, the platform that offers access to a wide variety of digital content, is now integrated with WorldCat, making this content more visible and discoverable through libraries with OCLC cataloging subscriptions.
CloudLibrary provides access to a rich collection of digital content in more than 50 languages, including millions of ebooks and audiobooks as well as tens of thousands of magazines, digital newspapers, digital comics, and streaming media services. Libraries make these collections available to their communities through CloudLibrary's top-rated mobile app while a web portal makes it easy for library staff to manage their ongoing collection purchasing.
CloudLibrary libraries that maintain an OCLC cataloging subscription can register their CloudLibrary collection in WorldCat. Once registered, libraries that subscribe to FirstSearch or WorldCat Visibility can enable the collection to be viewed across the web through a wide variety of strategic partnerships with search engines and other popular websites.
"The addition of CloudLibrary records to WorldCat makes things easier for both library users and staff," said Drew Bordas, OCLC's Chief Operations Officer. "People often start their searches online, and this helps them find digital library resources more easily. At the same time, library staff can simplify their workflows and keep catalogs accurate with automatic updates."
These libraries can enable automated holdings feeds for their CloudLibrary collection—meaning that OCLC will provide weekly updates of a library's holdings as the collection changes. This streamlines the library's workflows and saves staff time by eliminating the need for manual management. CloudLibrary libraries that catalog with OCLC can also download WorldCat MARC records for CloudLibrary titles.
In April 2024, OCLC acquired CloudLibrary to support public libraries in their efforts to successfully manage accelerated shifts to digital collections. Since then, OCLC has continued development of new product features for CloudLibrary. In January 2025, CloudLibrary received Platinum recognition as part of the 2025 Modern Library Awards from LibraryWorks.
A CloudLibrary Community Center is available for library staff to connect with peers and the OCLC product team. OCLC also maintains CloudLibrary channels on Instagram and Threads to engage with library patrons.
