    OCLC y LIBER anunciaron un nuevo programa de participación plurianual para el desarrollo de capacidades en las bibliotecas de investigación con proyección hacia el futuro

    LEIDEN, Países Bajos, 7 de julio de 2023—OCLC y LIBER anunciaron hoy el lanzamiento de un programa de participación plurianual basado en la estrategia 2023-2027 de LIBER, que presenta una proyección hacia el futuro de las bibliotecas de investigación. La serie de debates facilitará el examen, la exploración y el diseño colectivo en torno a las tecnologías en rápida evolución, las iniciativas de contenido abierto y la necesidad de apoyar los derechos y valores.

    La edición 2023-2024 de la serie Construyendo para el futuro: oportunidades y responsabilidades de los servicios de vanguardia, se centrará en el segundo componente de la estrategia de LIBER: "Para el 2027, las bibliotecas de investigación prestarán servicios innovadores y de vanguardia a colecciones, publicaciones y curación de información y (meta)datos. Estos servicios serán relevantes y adaptados para grupos de usuarios dentro y fuera de la academia".

    "Las bibliotecas de investigación de todo el mundo comienzan a desempeñar un papel de liderazgo en el desarrollo de servicios innovadores que permiten el intercambio abierto y equitativo del conocimiento y la información académica. Al mismo tiempo, todos enfrentamos retos similares. Después del éxito de programas anteriores, LIBER se complace en colaborar una vez más con OCLC en un programa de participación plurianual que ayudará a fortalecer a la comunidad bibliotecaria", dijo Martine Pronk, directora ejecutiva de LIBER.

    La primera serie de debates, que está disponible para los miembros de LIBER y los afiliados de OCLC Research Library Partnership, así como para la comunidad de bibliotecas de investigación en general, irá desde octubre de 2023 hasta junio de 2024. Las conversaciones se centrarán en las oportunidades para la colaboración estratégica de las bibliotecas en torno a tres áreas temáticas: gestión de datos de investigación; toma de decisiones con base en datos; e inteligencia artificial, aprendizaje automático y ciencia de datos.

    Se espera que los participantes comprendan con más claridad el papel de liderazgo que la biblioteca puede desempeñar en la exploración y prestación de estos servicios, conozcan más sobre la colaboración, su papel en el desarrollo y la oferta de servicios innovadores, y se sientan más seguros para discutir las oportunidades y responsabilidades en torno a este tipo de servicios. El objetivo es que los participantes se vayan con ideas sobre cómo desarrollar las capacidades en las ofertas de vanguardia de sus bibliotecas a través de la capacitación del personal y la colaboración interinstitucional.
