libraries-futures-2021-01

Lead your communities into the future.

Your library is a critical catalyst for the communities you serve, whether students, faculty, and researchers, or individuals with wide-ranging needs. Over the last year or more, your library and your staff have been challenged to find new ways to serve users and your broader community during the COVID-19 pandemic. Connecting with peers, broader networks, and organizations has never been so important. Join us as we investigate the multiple facets and possibilities to bring your library into the future.

OCLC traditionally hosts the EMEA Regional Council Conference at this time of the year. Unfortunately, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, our 2020 and 2021 editions could not take place in-person. However, the OCLC EMEA Regional Council Executive Committee keeps on engaging with the library community through various activities. This webinar series is the occasion for library professionals to look into the future concerning three main topics: the New Model Library, the future of metadata, and Sustainable Development Goals. We hope you will find these webinars useful for your strategic planning and that they will give you pointers to face future challenges.

A series of three webinars that address the future challenges of libraries:

The new model library

Metadata is Changing

Sustainable Development Goals

Inviting all library leaders, on April 12-14, 2021

These webinars are created especially for current and emerging library leaders across all library types—academic and research, public, special, and others. Programming and discussions are centered on library leadership’s opportunity to change the game, both today and in the future. We welcome all staff members from OCLC member libraries who would like to join these sessions.

About OCLC membership

All libraries—both OCLC members and non-member institutions—within the EMEA region can take part in the OCLC Europe, Middle East, and Africa Regional Council (EMEARC). Representatives from OCLC member libraries are encouraged to attend member meetings and community activities, to share insights through various member forums and channels, and to participate in elections and governance. Learn more about EMEARC and OCLC governance.
