Transforming Metadata: Improving Access to Federally Funded Research
Recommendations from the US Office of Science and Technology Policy for updating public access policies for federally funded research put metadata at the center. While the details of specific agency policies are many years off, libraries can begin to prepare by developing strategies for persistent identifiers, good research data management practices, and awareness of impacts on scholarly publishing.
