SHARES Onsite Access Working Group
The SHARES Onsite Access Working group was established in April 2024 to improve the experience of library patrons who utilize the SHARES reciprocal onsite access program and of library staff tasked with administering the program at their institutions.
Goals:
- Improve SHARES Onsite Access Program documentation for librarians and patrons
- Gather and share current information on visitor processing practices for all SHARES libraries, including for visitors from SHARES libraries co-located in the same metropolitan region
- Encourage normalization of visitor processing practices across all SHARES libraries
- Raise awareness of the SHARES Onsite Access Program among librarians and patrons
- Explore how the SHARES Onsite Access Program could better speak to the core values of our consortium: promoting and facilitating enhanced access to library materials for all SHARES patrons
Working group members have committed to a 14-month work plan that ends in June 2025. The members will then assess their progress and decide whether the term should be extended.
