Description

In this webinar, representatives from Brandeis University will share how the libraries and the University Writing Program have partnered to develop a Digital Pedagogy Certificate Program for Brandeis graduate students. Presenters will provide an overview of the needs assessment and initial pilot, and how this effort has been leveraged into an ongoing program with permanent financial support from the Graduate School of Arts & Sciences.

The Digital Pedagogy Certificate Program has several modules, including accessibility, learning  management systems, digital tools for research, digital tools for the humanities or sciences, and a capstone presentation. Participants engage in interdisciplinary cohorts and find significant enrichment not only in the content, but in the cross-campus engagement with fellow students. While specifically designed to prepare future faculty for teaching success at a range of academic institutional types, the skills acquired during the program are also valuable in a range of alt-academic careers.

This webinar is part of a series offered by the OCLC Research Library Partnership focusing on cross-campus collaboration in research support, in conjunction with the publication Social Interoperability in Research Support: Cross-campus partnerships and the university research enterprise, which examines the growing imperative for cross-campus, cross-domain institutional collaboration in the provision of successful research support services.

This webinar will be of interest to numerous stakeholders at research universities, including library leaders, graduate deans, and professionals working in writing centers, career centers, and teaching centers.
