Collaboration for sustainability: Operationalizing the Art Research Collective Collection
This presentation reports on Operationalizing the Art Research Collective Collection's first two phases: an art research collective collection analysis using WorldCat data, and an analysis of interlibrary loan (ILL) sharing patterns using five years of WorldShare Interlibrary Loan data. The collective collections analysis explores how art library collections, and the collections of other types of libraries, compare against one another, including areas of rarity and scarcity and areas of overlap and redundancy. The ILL analysis will explore what patterns exist in resource sharing activity (past and present) across art library collections, and between art library collections and the collections of other types of libraries. Both analyses will be discussed within a frame of what the data can tell us about potential opportunities for cooperation, coordination, and/or sharing across collections.
